What makes some developers think that anyone actually wants a light in the centre of a room?
If there's any justice in the world, such offenders should be made to live out their lives at 40 watts ('pearlescent' glow optional).
More imaginative people have latched onto the idea that instead of resorting to ceiling pendants, they can play with entire walls of light.
LED edge-lit panels make such diversions possible and allow rooms to enjoy a completely new kind of light.
It's also light without heat.
Unlike tube illuminated panels, which can only manage a slightly uneven light, and turn the average room into a sauna.
LED is the future. It is evenly illuminated, controllable, and definitely cool.
